The painter is actually one of you fellow Americans on the ground this day : Rick Potestio. From what I understand he is the founder of Cyclo-cross Crussade in Portland, OR. And his work is truly amazing !

Great writing and CX from an oblique angle - incredible images and in total agreement with mens and women’s elite on the Sunday. Makes total sense - a bit like allowing U23 riders in elite events to wear Championship jerseys - or making the race distance at UCI Gravel Worlds the same for men and women - a la the spirit of gravel - so let’s give it a few years .. maybe.
