The UCI Cyclocross World Championships kicked off today from Tábor, Czechia, with the mixed team relay. This is the third year the relay has been a part of the World Championships and the second year it was a championship event. Year one in Fayetteville, won by the Italian squad, was a test event.
In 2023, the Dutch, who opted out of the test event, took the gold medal on home turf at Hoogerheide, Netherlands. With their gold medal in hand, the Dutch once again declined to participate.
Coming into the 2024 edition, Great Britain and Belgium looked like the favorites on paper. Were they able to live up to expectations? Results after the spoiler-blocking wolf.
That was actually an entertaining race especially with Team GB coming back from dead last after lap 1. That said Zoe did put in the fastest women’s lap on that last of the bunch first lap, while Cam had fastest men’s lap. A little strategery at work maybe? 🤔

Love it!
