Val Di Sole MTB World Cup Preview
The MTB World Cup continues this weekend with a full slate of cross-country, short-track, downhill and four-cross racing at Val di Sole in Trentino, Italy. With the Olympic qualification period closed, riders and teams will be focused on the task at hand, performing well at the World Cup.
Some riders may let off the gas a bit, knowing their Olympic spots are secured, and all eyes are now on Paris. However, riders who didn’t get the Olympics nod may have had their Caitlin Clark-esque monsters awakened and are racing with something to prove.
The action starts on Friday with the U23 and Elite short-track events. There are no junior races at this round, so all four XCC events are on Friday, and the XCO events are on Sunday. Note that the Men’s U23 event is the last event on the schedule and will occur after the Men’s Elite. Unlike Nové Město, this round of the World Cup also includes downhill racing at the same venue and will be the featured discipline on Saturday.
Coverage is available on Max in the U.S. and supplemented by the UCI MTB World Cup YouTube channel.
