Trek CX Cup Race Preview
Riders compete at the final two rounds of the Trek USCX series this weekend
We are in Waterloo, Wisconsin, for the Trek CX Cup and the final round of the Trek USCX series. Along with the C1 and C2 events up for grabs, nobody has clinched the series overall, so we should have some exciting head-to-head racing this weekend. Hélène Clauzel leads Sidney McGill by 70 points in the women’s series, and Andrew Strohmeyer leads Scott Funston by 68 points, setting up the ultimate “anything can happen” scenario for the final two rounds.
With prize money and bragging rights on the line, there are many close battles to watch in the top 20.

Trek CX Cup Venue
Racing on the same World Cup track from years past, the Trek CX Cup offers fast racing with several well-known technical sections. Historically, the run-up and Factory Hill have been race-changing sections, along with the Euro-height planks that provide an advantage for those who can ride the obstacle at speed.

Weather
Over the years, we have experienced mud races in Waterloo and baking-hot conditions. This weekend, it’s shaping up to be two beautiful autumnal days. Saturday may be a tad warm, but Sunday looks downright perfect.

The Seventh Best North American Course Feature
If you read the Bulletin’s Anonymous Rider Survey in September, you probably didn’t notice that the Trek CX Cup Secret Bar was voted the seventh-best North American Course Feature. The folks at Trek HQ certainly did, and they are embracing it. If you’re in town this weekend or have never been to the secret bar, put it on your “cyclocross places to visit” list—right above the Fayetteville steps.
Pretty sure Clausel is leading Sid McGill by 70 pts, Bakker is in the bronze position according to the standings list?
