Bike people can be a little bit weird sometimes. They, say, go to Belgium in the middle of winter for Kerstperiode and call it a “vacation” or travel to France and climb a mountain to watch the Tour de France peloton go by one time.
As listeners to the Wide Angle Podium Cyclocross Radio mountain bike coverage know, contributor Elisabeth Reinkordt is a massive mountain bike fan and although the Tour sounds cool, the UCI Mountain Bike World Cups sound even cooler. So when it came time to dream about a bike-related vacation, she and her partner Willem agreed that since they did not get to do a proper honeymoon when they got married, what better way to celebrate belatedly than to go to Switzerland for World Cup Lenzerheide last week.
And since we have now fully swallowed Elisabeth into the Media Pit borg, it only made sense to get a media credential for the weekend.
Our kind of vacationing, kind of working mountain bike correspondent. Scroll on for a photo gallery Elisabeth provided from the weekend and stay tuned to the Cyclocross Radio podcast feed for our episode with the full download from the great Lenzerheide adventure.
