The Pan American Cyclocross Championships are going to Montana. Organizer MTCX will host the event in 2023 on the UCI-mandated Continental Cyclocross Championships weekend of November 4-5, the Pan-American Cycling Confederation (COPACI) announced today. The event will return to Missoula in 2024.
Although major cycling events have taken place in Missoula, and MTCX boasts a 25-year history of racing cyclocross in Western Montana, this will be the first UCI cyclocross event in the state.
“USA Cycling is honored to be working with COPACI and our longstanding partners in Missoula to host the Cyclocross Continental Championships in the United States in November 2023.” Said Brendan Quirk, President & CEO of USA Cycling. “It’s a gorgeous setting for such an important event as we work with fellow COPACI nations to grow bike racing on behalf of Junior, Elite and Masters athletes across the Americas.”
The PanAm championship races will take place on Saturday, November 4. PanAm titles will be awarded across masters categories along with the UCI jr, U23 and elite titles. A UCI C2 event is planned for Sunday, November 5.
