We are in Deerfield Township, Ohio, this weekend for Kings CX and another UCI C1/C2 weekend. After several riders opted to skip last week’s Major Taylor Cyclocross in Indianapolis, some but not all of the top riders are back in action at Kings.
On the women’s side, Maghalie Rochette (Canyon) comes into the weekend as the favorite, with Caroline Mani (Groove Off Road Racing) not far behind. With Sidney McGill (Cervèlo Orange Living) not on the start list, Katie Clouse (Steve Tilford Racing) and Lizzy Gunsalus (CCB Racing) should be vying for the remaining podium spot.
On the men’s side, Eric Brunner (Comp Edge Racing) is back, but Andrew Strohmeyer (CXD Racing), Scott Funston (Cervèlo Orange Living) and Kerry Werner (Groove Off Road Racing) are not racing. That opens the door for Curtis White (Steve Tilford Racing), Caleb Swartz (ENVE/ Forward Endurance Coaching) and most of Canada, including Gunnar Holmgren (KMC Ridley MTB Racing Team), Ian Ackert (Trek Future Racing), and Tyler Clark (Hockley Valley Resort Armada) in the mix, fighting for the podium.
Weather
Perfect for cyclocross.
