After spending the Fall and Winter in less-than-ideal weather conditions, I always look forward to early-season gravel and mountain bike races to enjoy warmer temperatures and friendlier weather conditions. So I was excited to return to Turkey, Texas, for the second edition of Valley of Tears Gravel.
Unfortunately, the weather was more European winter than Texas spring and racers faced many challenges and a modified course for the saturday race. But that didn’t change the fun atmosphere of the event and we still got to enjoy a new tradition on Friday, the gravel crit. Results are here.
In the latest Groadio episode, Amanda and break down everything that happened in Turkey, Texas, for Valley of Tears and preview the upcoming Mid South race.
Great photos! I heard conditions for the unprepared were down right dangerous! Also for those who were prepared- it was a cold and wet experience - especially for the shorter distances. Thanks for covering the race!
